About the COLLABORATIVE CARE TECHNOLOGY WORKING GROUP (CCTWG)

Healthcare reform and innovation go hand in hand with new partnerships.

But what innovations are wanted and needed?  How can they be funded, and made self-sustaining?  How do they begin to demonstrate traction?  Why do some succeed and others fail?  Who are the ultimate customers?  And where can we find the complementary people and technologies to bring new products and services to market?

The Collaborative Care Technology Working Group (CCTWG) aims to answer these questions and more in an intensive, year-round working environment led by a core faculty and visiting experts in healthcare delivery, policy, technology, and public and private funding.

The measure of our success: new partnerships, projects, and technologies for healthcare innovation created by our members.

The outline of our agenda is clear but, to be a success,  CCTWG needs you!  Please join us to find out more on Wednesday, June 30th from 6:30 - 9 PM in Waltham.

  • CCTWG is a new, independent group dedicated to studying the core challenges of designing, developing, and bringing to market technologies that support collaborative, coordinated healthcare.  Examples can range from devices that help consumers better monitor themselves and communicate with caregivers to information "dashboards" for physicians.

  • CCTWG is planned as a year-round series of monthly meetings (starting in Fall 2010) that combine seminar-style presentations by subject matter experts with open discussion, brainstorming, and Q&A to help participants think through product and design strategies.  Online and offline collaboration between meetings will be encouraged and supported.

  • Principal facilitator will be author, professor, and practicing primary care physician Dr. Allan Goroll of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, joined throughout the year by invited guest experts.

  • Participation in CCTWG and access to monthly meetings and other resources will be on a paid membership basis and by application.

  • CCTWG is intended as a focused group dedicated to intensive study and group collaboration, and so will be limited in size during its first year (up to 30 participants) to facilitate productivity.

  • CCTWG is expected to develop relationships with complementary local and national organizations to support its goals and those of its individual members.

  • A downloadable .PDF on the CCTWG may be found here.
